We use Mnemon in our own software development cycle at Doticca SRL. We offer it free to all developers so you can use it in yours.

Doticca builds websites, applications and custom software. Mnemon is one of the tools we use to understand the software we build.

Mnemon is not open source yet. We plan to open-source it, but have not announced a release date or license. Today, free use is covered by the terms accompanying the software.

Can I use Mnemon without a coding agent?

Yes. Explore code and documents, review changes and inspect dependencies directly in the desktop application. No IDE extension or MCP connection is required.

Is Mnemon free?

Yes. Doticca SRL uses Mnemon in its own development cycle and offers it free to all developers. Paid coding agents and external model services are separate.

Is Mnemon open source?

Not yet. Doticca SRL plans to open-source Mnemon, but no release date or open-source license has been announced. Free to use does not mean open source; the terms accompanying the current distribution apply.

Which platforms and languages are supported?

The installer is available for Windows; macOS and Linux are coming soon. Structural code analysis supports C# and TypeScript, alongside Markdown intelligence. JavaScript project discovery is supported, but analysis depth varies by language and project.

Which IDEs and agents can I use?

The companion extension supports VS Code and Cursor. Compatible MCP hosts, including GitHub Copilot, Cursor and Claude Code, can query the memory; MCP alone does not add editor features.

What does Mnemon add beyond Git and text search?

Mnemon indexes code relationships, member evolution and document roles so you can investigate connections and planning context beyond exact text matches. Git remains the source of your code, documents and commit history.

Does Mnemon perform automated code review?

Mnemon supports developer-led review with indexed source, history and analysis signals. It does not approve changes or guarantee correctness. Coverage depends on the indexed revision and supported analysis.

Where does my repository data go?

Mnemon stores repository memory locally. If you connect an external agent or cloud model, shared context is subject to that service's data handling. Local model options are available for embeddings and Ask.
